I have a 2 year old MBP which serves all my needs but I do not have a
proper backup because my Iomega hard drives (one for my iMac and video, the
other was supposed to be for the laptop) are Firewire. I have only just
discovered that there are 2 types of Firewire (doh - but then how are we
supposed to learn this????) so having just ordered a Thunderbolt to
Firewire adapter thinking that would solve my problem I discover that the
adapter is for the 'wrong' Firewire... Any advice on what to do / what I
need? Should I hold on to this adapter and get another one to link it to
the Firewire cables in the HD? Is there another adapter for Thunderbolt to
the Firewire I have? (Couldn't see any other option on Apple Store... and
wasn't warned of the problem which is what annoys me) Or be more radical
and get a whole new HD for the MBP (the Iomega drives are 1TB
each)...Feeling wrong-footed by Apple (why no firewire port?) and rather
stupid...
