To further elaborate my earlier response...  www.apptimemachine.com is a
project to deal with just this kind of issue...  but it seems to only be
browsable from phones and not computers yet.  The versions of the facebook
app hosted up there currently are 3.2, 3.5 and 4.0   Since I don't use
facebook myself I have no idea what features are in these or how far back
in the past they are, or what the current version of facebook is for
comparison.

You may or may not need a jailbroken iphone to be able to install these, im
not entirely sure because it was a free app to begin with, but the
procedure will basically be drag and drop the ipa to your phone using
itunes.

the browser address seems to be
http://www.apptimemachine.com/mobile/index.php but these only appear to
work from within the app and not the browser...
