Morning Smuggers!

I suspect it's getting to the time where my venerable old 24" iMac (2.8GHz,
Core 2 Duo, 4GB) is coming up to retirement. For a replacement, I think a
laptop and separate 27" monitor is going to fit my life better these days, but
I'd want something that offers significantly better performance than I get from
the iMac (possibly something with an SSD). So, how far up the MacBook range,
new or recent, would I have to go to get something that makes the old iMac look
pedestrian (assuming I'm not being hopelessly optimistic in my expectations of
MacBook performance)?

Thoughts anybody?
Phil
