I've decided it's time to retire my trusty iPad 16GB 3G Classic that I've had
since (the day before!) it was released. It's served me very well but the web
crashes quite, in speed my iPod touch 5th gen runs rings around it most of the
time and it's stuck on iOS5 which means a less than stellar implementation of
iCloud. I've ordered the 32GB + 4G iPad Air this time as I realised after about
a year of owning the original that 16GB was too small. I dithered for some time
between the Air and the mini but as I've no laptop the idea of typing on the
mini's screen didn't appeal and my eyes are not quite what they were so the
bigger screen seemed a definite plus.

Now that I'm no longer in Brighton but in rural Essex, our nearest Apple Store
is in the hideous Lakeside centre which I try to avoid so I've ordered it from
Apple.

Delivery is currently quoted as "Despatch within 24 hours" so I just have to
twiddle my thumbs now. Oh, and sell it back to Apple or find a (eBay?) buyer
for my original. Of course if I hung onto it for 40 years it might be worth as
much as that Apple 1 but I'd be in no state to enjoy the proceeds ...
