All, I want to update my iMac to Mavericks but do it on an external drive so I can check existing app compatibility while leaving my existing internal HD and system untouched. So, before I do anything dumb, can I just run this by the collective SMUG brain...
I've created a clone of my existing HD/system using Carbon Copy Cloner on an external USB drive. My plan is to re-start the iMac using the external drive and then implement the Mavericks download/update procedure. I'm assuming then that Mavericks will update/install the OS on the external drive and my internal HD will be completely left alone. Is that correct?
