All it needs is someone to download it and type their password in. That's why the default for launching apps in System Prefs/Security should be higher setting rather than 'any' -- it gives you a moment to think about whacking in your admin password.
The police can supposedly trace bitcoin transactions a bit by looking at all the logs but it takes a few seconds to create a new wallet, move it there etc etc. You can make it very difficult for them (but I don't buy the complete anonymity line, there's too many IP addresses involved)
