I'd be willing to give it a go.

I've had one private 'maybe' and one public 'yes' (thank you both) which was a good prompt to think harder about this.

I *strongly* recommend a main and a secondary admin (for eg the main one being on holiday). We'll give it a few days but if no-one else comes forward, I'd take this 1 1/2 as a sensible offer;)

If anyone has questions please post them here and I ask the list's patience while the nuts-and-bolts are displayed publicly.

It's also a chance, should there be interest, to discuss whether the list admin has got the culture right. I have occasionally explained my rationale and in my opinion made one very poor judgement that - ironically - proved to be correct though I couldn't have known it at the time (I moderated someone, probably a little in haste, but their subsequent behaviour rapidly made me glad I had done).

I propose these threads be permitted to range without more than emergency moderation by me til end of Friday. I think longer would wear out quieter members of the list, who I ask to hit delete a bit more than usual until then. But as of midnight Friday, the free-for-all ends (if a small group has self-identified as having opinions that need discussing, we can take it offlist as a group until everyone's satisfied).

And I'm framing the conversation as 'roughly the status quo is default to continue unless a compelling argument': if you like the current climate, *please don't feel the need to say so*.

Objections *offlist* to me please;) If there's a flood, I'll shorten the timing/adjust the framework.
