You might want to try Mark at www.mkpcs.com (01483 548987). He's a mate of mine, an ex work colleague. He does all sorts of repairs including broken screens on Macs and recently replaced a battery in an iPhone 3GS for a good rate for me (emergency phone for my wife). Your message arrived 5 minutes after I got off the phone, speaking to him about something else. Could be worth a call to him?

Tell him Graham Street sent you. I promise the price won't go up due to mentioning my name!

Hi Rebekah,

I recently had to replace a screen in an iMac 27" 2010 at Robert Harding - it was the cheapest option I could find - and that cost just over £400 inc VAT. Sadly, I think that is the only alternative to the solution you are using.

You could put the iMac under the desk?

On a 2010 iMac I felt it was worth investing in a new screen to extend its life, on a 2007 I would not advise it.

Graham
