does with the older models, then it restricts the laptop to optical connections 
only. Your most reliable bet, if compressed air doesn't work, is to get a USB 
to audio adapter and run the sound through that.

Unfortunately the connector port is soldered onto the motherboard, so 
replacement is extremely expensive.
