I'd upgrade to Snow Leopard at a minimum, ideally Mavericks, your version of
Safari is drastically out of date and a javascript function on the YouTube
could be freezing it.
You could also have a bad block on the hard drive and the Safari cache files
are being saved to that part of the drive. Go to Applications > Utilities >
Console > Search for "I/O" > Does anything show up that says I/O error?
