It's happened again (see posts from 2009 to 29/10/2013).
Time Machine, which seems to have been working just fine for me for months, has
now decided to do a big backup of 263.05 GB, and is now operating so slowly
(just 1.94GB overnight) that it will probably take a week to complete it.
Once again, I received a message saying that there was a conflict between Time
Machine and "Time Machine Editor" (I don't actually have this App) so I then
turned off "automatic backups" and started the present session of epic
slowness...
Should I set Energy saver to Computer Sleep "Never"? Do I have to leave the
iMac on all the time? Will my now elderly machine survive this latest backup?
Any advice or opinions gratefully received as always!

Phil T
