Onyx (not font specific, but general apple system tools)  has a "rebuild
font database" option which is well worth running if you have thousands of
fonts and aren't using a specific tool to manage them.

Font Explorer X is lovely, used to be free but isn't any more.  Give the
trial a go and see if it suits?  Much better than fusion
