I have an iMac and Mac Pro, both running OSX Lion, that I want to format
and reset to a clean install (ready for sale).
Both devices have a CD/DVD drive so I could probably do this from an
install DVD? Or maybe via an external Firewire drive?
When OSX Lion was first available I downloaded it and retained the
'Install Mac OS X Lion.app' (4.2Gb). If I right-click and 'show package
contents' I can see all the component files. Can I somehow use these to
create the install files on a DVD or Firewire drive? Or is there a
better method?
The primary objective is to format each Mac and have a clean install
'ready to go' for the next owner turning on the computer.
If I can also give that owner the install job on a DVD too, that will be
a bonus.
Thanks for any advice on how to do this.
