That's normal. 

Loosely speaking: an incoming e-mail is either in, or no longer in, the 
Inbox. What you saw on all devices was a synchronised view of the Inbox. 

If you prefer a synchronised view of Junk, then in Mail on the laptop you 
should prefer to use the server-side Junk mailbox (not a local mailbox) for 
Junk. Select the mailbox, then 

Mailbox menu > Use This Mailbox For > Junk
