this 'other' stuff is a pain. Two things that might be relevant:
1) In my experience they are photos. Remove all photos, do the install,
put them back. Ditto for videos.
2) Even when you delete apps, stuff gets left behind (as something like
iExplorer will show you). Try deleting apps then putting them back - hey
presto, it has some of the data you had before (sometimes). This means
that over time, we're all going to have to do clean installs every now
and then to clear out the debris.
