Hi y’all,

My partner upgraded his MacBook Air last night and all went through without a
hitch. Mine was fine until about 99% of the way through on the final
“installing” progress bar when it sat there forever. I pressed the iMac’s rear
button and restarted and it booted up and completed the install fine. The only
thing I’m not sure about is the colour picker window which looks crude and
garish, but I suppose I’ll have to live with that. :-(

ice and speedy on everything so far apart from Spotlight rebuilding all its
indexes …

Also, 1Password 5 is a free upgrade which I installed but if you have bought
1Password 4 from AgileButs rather than the Mac App Store it kills your iCloud
Sync if you used it and you’ll have to buy the store version at 30% off for £25
or change your sync method. I’m switching over to WiFi though. Info here
https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/switching-to-wi-fi

Other than that, I’m enjoying the new interface.

As always, one of the highlights of a new release of OS X is John Siracusa’s
in-depth review. Get a cup of coffee and settle down for the full 25 screen
experience: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2014/10/os-x-10-10/

OK, off to continue the ritual disk grind of updating various apps weighing in
at hundreds of MB each. Sigh …
