I have a recent 3TB 27” iMac with fusion drive which for some time has had an intermittent problem whereby a G-tech and a Western digital hard drive is not recognised when connected to the back of the machine by USB2 Sometimes they are, but sometimes I get the disk not ejected properly message, as soon as the drive is connected, and the drive does not show on the Desktop.
Other times, the drive will show but then disappear and I get the message. This also happens with a Seagate drive that I use for Time Machine back ups. I thought this was a Mavericks issue, but it is still present since I updated to Yosemite. NOTE If I go into finder / Devices, the drives are visible and I can work with them even when they are not showing on the desktop, however, this is less than ideal as time machine backups need to be initiated from finder when the drives are not showing on the desktop and so I can miss several backups. Anyone else had / solved this issue? Kind regards, Steve. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
