I have a WD "My Book" linked to my iMac and iPad. It's very useful indeed for storing movies and files and accessing them from within the house, however I have not yet succeeded in accessing it at a distance - away from home. Whether this is because of the poor quality of my rural broadband, the wi-fi quality in cafes and other people's houses, or for some other reason I don't know.
