Hi Paul

Try a safe boot, hold shift while booting and release when you see the progress
bar. Once it's booted up, do another normal restart then test.

Regards

Sam

Hi all,

finally upgraded my 2011 MBP to Yosemite a couple of days ago, All
seems to have gone well apart from the sound.

Volume keys work and show the volume changes but no there are no audio
"clicks" to accompany it, no sound when any audio is played.

I know the speakers are working as the startup chime is audible and if
you go into system prefs and choose sound effects - they work.

Have tried the usual fixes and have plugged in headphones (these dont
produce any sound either)

Anyone got any idea how to fix this very annoying problem?

cheers,
