Point taken however, just carried out a test moving a 3.91gb file from a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo v1 to the Desktop of my MacBook Pro.
The copy, across a network in real-time use, took 4" 02' for 4,003mb. The same file copied from the desktop to a directly connected USB 3.0 external device in 33 seconds. To a directly connected USB 2.0 device it took 3" 17'. But then, hey, its just a cheap Netgear device, of course it'll be slower! Moral: Routers should never be the heart of a network, just the gateway to the outside world. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
