I’ve been using Photos for a while, since 10.10.3 was released as a public
beta. It’s a slightly different interface, very basic, but I prefer it to
iPhoto personally.

I haven’t found a way of merging libraries, only switching between them in the
same way iPhoto used to, holding alt at startup. Photos can’t import from an
iPhoto library without exporting the images first.

iPhoto Library Manager <http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/> worked fine with
iPhoto, perhaps they’re updating it for Photos?

Regards

Sam
