If they want a bit on 'why SMUG resisted having meetings and membership
records at one point' I'm happy to put forward my recollections as admin
on why I took that position;)

Hello
I've been approached with regard to an upcoming feature in Mac Format
highlighting the role of Mac User Groups.
There are 2 dozen Mac User Groups in the UK and they're looking at
featuring one a month so it may take a while.
First they want a descriptive article describing the group (word count
presently unknown) which I am happy to write but if anyone would like
a
crack at it I'm more than happy to hand it out. After they have
covered all
of the groups they would then like an article for each group authored
by a
member saying what it's like to be a member and what you get out of
the
group. It's a fair way off but would anyone be interested in authoring
such
an article?
As part of the same initiative, a group of the other user group
managers
are building a library of presentations for their meetings. Obviously
we
don't have these but if anyone would be interested in access to this
library of presentations, I will share it when it becomes available.
If anyone has any thoughts regarding any of the above, please feel
free to
chip in.
Thanks
