I have recently found some HandBrake <https://handbrake.fr> presets online
that can be used to get full HD (1080) movie encodes down to 1.5 - 2.5GB
for full movies, much like the encoders over at YIFY and AnoXmous would
achieve, and they look great! I have done a couple of encodes using the
preset and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it.

The only thing concerning me is the fact the encode takes around about 19
hours and is pretty much caning my iMac the whole time. The iMac is pretty
useable whilst the encode is happening but it's heating up a lot and the
fan is blowing constantly trying to keep everything cool.

I'm wondering if doing these encodes is going to kill my iMac, either in
the short or longer term, and wondered if anyone had any views on this? Is
this ok for a computer or am I putting it under too much stress?

I'm using:

   - iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
   - Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
   - Memory: 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR

I'd be grateful to hear any thoughts! Thank you.
