To further expand my comments Powerline adapters/ networks.
I needed to get a signal from the Mac Mini to a Sonos Connect device which is located close to the HiFi Preamp, I could not get an Ethernet cable between the two devices without drilling holes through outside walls and festooning ethernet cables between the two points. I started to use Powerline adapters to expand the network and it worked - however I was not happy - I then read the following thread in the Naim Forum http://forums.naimaudio.com/topic/using-homeplugs-?reply=29584101119603857#29584101119603857 I understand that Simon is involved with a major electronics / communication company in Suffolk so I listened to his views. I removed the powerline plugs and placed the Wifi transmitter box in a remote area in the house away from where I regularly work, relax and sleep. (I get a head ache from some Wifi transmitters if I am close to them). I got an ethernet cable fed through through the first floor beams by a cooperative burglar alarm installer (they know how to hide cables in houses) from the router to a Wifi transmitter which then then gives a good service to all the house feeding the various portable devices. OK you can describe me as a foil hat wearer but I am happy that I am not living in a microwave cooker the size of the house.
