Try tap & hold? Or tap to open, then tap again to bring up the menus, then tap
the share icon and open with iBooks

How can I stop attachments opening automatically in an email? I am trying to
send an attachment to my husband's iPad so that he can read it in iBooks. If
it stays as an attachment pdf he can tap on it and the box in right hand corner
with arrow opens with option to send it to iBooks. But, infuriatingly, the
attachment arrives as part of the email and I cannot see how to send it or copy
it to iBooks. Any ideas?
