Crucial SSDs work very well without TRIM enabled but with the occasional
start-up holding down ALT, and leave to simmer for a bit (I've seen this
resurrect a very slow SSD, which I left overnight at the start-up
moment; in the morning it was back to zippy). The screen will show all
valid start-up options, and you just leave it there for a bit while the
garbage collection does its thing.
I can't find the help page that put me onto this but crucial do mention
their firmware garbage collection, which runs best when the disk is
quiet (ie at that start-up when you select the disk)

Do I enable some App for it? (I notice
that TRIM Enabler is in the Unsupported Apps folder now) or does it
all
work 'right out of the box'?
