Hi, My macbook pro has frozen repeatedly over the past three days. i realise the cursor isn't moving, and keyboard/trackpad gives no response. however, live mic into session keeps metering, and on one occasion, audio continued to play, but I had no controls to stop it. I'm on OSX v 10.9.5 processor 2.3 GHz mem 4GB I am working on Ableton Live, doing a fair bit of live recording (through an interface usb into mac), and also using Qlab3, imovie and I have another video playing on QuickTime Player. Oh and capturing audio on Audio Hijack too.
It seems to happen when I'm on Ableton, and I get crash reports when I restart. It doesn't seem to slow down or show any other signs of strain, but just stops altogether, periodically. On restart, I generally haven't lost anything, and performance is back up to speed again. I used disk utility yesterday after 2 crashes/freezes that were minutes apart. I don't really know what I'm doing, but it looked like something was repaired. Was fine for the rest of the day after that, but has crashed again today. Any thoughts? Should I be asking Santa for a new mac? Thanks, Helen -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
