Are you up to date with El Capitan? It was a known issue until around 10.11.3 I

Good afternoon,

Occasionally, on waking my MacBookPro (Late 2013) I get a message telling me
the hostname has been changed as the original one is already in use.
Since yesterday it’s happened about a dozen times (as opposed to once a
fortnight before) and it’s becoming a nuisance. Nothing that I can think of has
changed on the Mac and there has definitely not been any change on the network.

The paranoiac inside me says that something external is to blame - should I be
worried?

Regards
Philippe
