It’s an easy way of setting up rules in particular folders. I scan all my paperwork in, then shred it, and have an OCR program recognise any test. Hazel can scan through files added to my Scans folder, detect key words and move the file to a relevant folder, for example if it detects my BT account number, the file is moved to my BT folder.
It can also do stuff like auto-delete files in the trash older than a week, gives a nice safety net. There’s lots of other stuff it can do, try googling Mac Hazel. Regards Sam MacAmbulance Ltd.
