Yes Darren you can backup to iCloud. I did that years ago and lost all my notes so never actively used it again. The good thing is that while I was out a load of stuff has been downloaded from iCloud, about half my current notes and a lot of contacts so things are not too bad. I’m going to try and get the password like Jason suggest it might be something belonging to something I’ve forgotten about.
The next thing is to just AirDrop the missing things and clear out little used apps and reinstall from Apps Store.
