what about a floating Sticky? (Stickies is the app). Should be installed on your Mac already, you can tell a window to float. You wouldn't ever get away from it but could minimise and have it very handy at all times (might achieve the same end -- I never see my own destop picture, behind everything).

Or do you mean your screensaver?
