Little Snitch up to the most recent nightly build was causing excessive delays during the boot process - typically before the main OS got started ie befor the progress line is drawsn on the screen. So go to the Little Snitch webste - check out the forum and then download the latest nightly bild and install it. All Little Snitch updates requre a reboot and you should find the boot process is muh faster.
