Morning all Just working out what we need spec wise as a family computer (wondering about Mini or iMac). One thing is storage...
We have 100GB in iPhoto, and that'll only increase. I'd prefer all SSD, but not a cheap upgrade. Fusion looks good but wondering how future proof it is with macOS etc. Anyhoo... I'm also wondering about whether it's worth putting all our photos in to iCloud, to enjoy them from every device? We already have the 200GB Family Plan, so we've enough for now. Has anybody done this? Is it recommended? Does iCloud store the full hi-res version of each photo? Alternatively, I keep iCloud for our iOS devices and the DSLR shots on the Mac can just stay local. Any thoughts? And whilst you're kindly reading, any thoughts about Backup? Currently done locally to an external HDD. Works fine. But just wondering if it's worth heading to a cloud based solution for ease and peace of mind all round? I hear good things about BackBlaze, but perhaps a combo of something like TimeMachine and DropBox and iCloud Drive is a more economically efficient way ahead!?!
