Could be a fault on the NAS drive, or a network error. I’d use a command line tool called rsync, then it’ll skip files with errors (letting you know if there’s an error).
The other alternative would be to plug the WD drive into the NAS and use its web interface to tell it to copy direct to the WD. Sam MacAmbulance Ltd.
