Thanks for that! I used iTunes on the iMac and synced the new phone to that. All music back! I am so pleased! Many thanks for the suggestion.

Sounds like a sync issue - do you sync the phone with the Mac?

I have lost music through iTunes over the years, it's not a safe place. Either pay for Music Match (and check they upload) or make copies somewhere else. I still routinely discover all but one track of an album gone, but there it is in my archives, no idea how they all got deleted.

I would back those precious songs up somewhere else (even just another folder on the hard drive) then try transferring them to the phone via iTunes.

Since the latest iOS update almost all of the music in my iTunes library has gone. Is there any way I can get this back? It is all still in iTunes on my iMac but not on my phone. There were recordings made by a concert pianist friend who died 10 years ago and these are very special to me … Also some radio plays which I love, as well as loads of other stuff. At least it is all still on my imac - but it would be so nice to be able to listen when not at home.

Thanks

Andrew
