The modern iPhones use the HEIC format for images. Which model of Mac do you
have and which version of macOS.

If you can’t upgrade any further, you can set the phone to use jpg. Go to
Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible

Hi. I’ve just taken some photos using my new iPhone XR and when I tried to
edit one in Photos on my (rather old) iMac I got this message

<Screen Shot 2019-12-03 at 5.54.14 pm.png>

I never had this when I took photos on my iPhone SE. The iMac won’t update nay
more - it there anything that I can do to work around this?

Thank you!

Andrew
