Does it change if you change the angle of the screen? Could be a faulty flex 
cable maybe?

I've got True Tone switched on but I find that it rather crunches through the 
gears, as it were. It often comes across as if the screen is flickering. I 
thought it should much more smoothly adjust the white point.

It's not exactly a flicker, but it's not subtle or elegant and very noticeable.

Is that right? I can't find other negative reviews online so wonder if mine is 
misbehaving?
