Dear all My pal dropped my iPhone XS and alas, smashed the screen.
I went to reputable 3rd party as couldn't really justify £270 at Apple. I paid £180 and they assured me that whilst it's not OEM, it'd be very good with one year warranty (first screen they fitted failed as 'tap to wake' wouldn't register). I'm rather disappointed: - colours are rather saturated - brightness is bright at it's lowest or very very bright thereafter - green (sms bubbles) a little too luminous and whole thing a little glaring to look at. I've played around in Accessibility settings with Hues / Tints and things, but it's still not quite right. Back in the day I had an iPhone 5 LCD replaced and never noticed any difference at all, but perhaps an OLED is a different beast? Is it to be expected for non OEM or is it reasonable to return again? I know "buy cheap buy twice" but it didn't feel in the realm of cheap! All because my friend dropped it!
