I’ve experienced glitches with Mail too. Usually it doesn’t open immediately. 
The app appears in the bar but a page doesn’t open. It has also just 
disappeared sometimes and has to be opened again. Mysteriously, I don’t get the 
expected message from Apple asking if I want to report the problem. I have 
similar problems with Calendar.
