At the cheaper end I bought a Samsung 28” 4K Ultra HD monitor for around £250 
(Currys PC World) last year, Works well, connected via HDMI to my newish 
MacMini. I guess it depends what you want to use it for.

However, my 10year old Apple LED Cinema Display looks just as good beside it!
