As an emergency you could quit it and uninstall?

To quit a background app, open up Activity Monitor, select the app and hit the 'x' just under the window control buttons (red/amber/green). Then you can remove it from start-up items in System Prefs->Users and Groups.

*then* you could see if you can redownload the original or retrieve from a back-up;)

(I use smcFanControlApp but not sure if that does what you need).

Help! I have had MacFans control installed on my iMac for some years (thank you Sam for suggesting it!). And has been great.

Today when I switched on the iMac, I got an alert for a new version of MacFan control 2 which was available to instal - so I did. And now the fans are buzzing away like crazy and won’t slow down. Any advice most welcome. The noise is very distracting!

Thanks

Andrew
