I was on the fence on this for a long time. But iCloud Keychain isn’t quite as robust or easy to use as 1Password. Which would be why Apple use 1Password internally.
I have moved to 1Password 7 and felt it was worth it. I also have got over my grump on subscription model software - I’d now much rather have viable regularly updated stuff than paying for point updates on a completely unpredictable basis.
