I have a 27” Samsung display directly connected to my MacMini via HDMI, when the Mac has been asleep for a while it refuses to wakeup on its own until I push the settings switch on the display. The power light is always on.
My second 27” display (Apple LCD, 10 years old) is connected via a T3 hub, via a mini display port connector, and never complains. If Apple brought out a new reasonably priced 27” display (sub £1,000), I'd jump. But when they sell their new AirPods Max for £550, I can’t see that happening. Not sure this will help you, but you never know. Anyone on here buying the AirPods Max?
