In the New Year, I'll be advising my parents on a new Mac. Their 13yr old iMac is now not enough with online security etc etc. They're in their mid 80s, and only use email and safari, but prefer a Mac to an iPad for familiarity. I'm tempted to suggest a refurb Air, but aware the M1 is the new era, can we expect future macOS updates etc to be Intel compatible for a good few years yet, do you think? If not, I'll suggest they get an M1 and be totally future proof! Thanks so much and hope you all manage a Happy Christmas after this strange year.
