I would try deleting them with another app (eg the web version). They're obviously not being cleared out or marked as collected by the old version (this stuff is not my strong point!). Does your old Mail have 'Rebuild Mailboxes' or something similar as an option? Basically something is stuck somewhere...

Absolutely identical, Three came from Apple telling me my iCloud was nearing the free limit, the other from a friend (expected). In each one the copies were coming at 5 second interval. At this stage I blocked them ending with four very large items. When I deleted them each one told me I was deleting many hundred items.

Many thanks

are these real? spoofing addresses? From you or someone else? Do you mean absolutely identical emails duplicated endlessly ... and other questions.

Hi All,

I've been receiving a continuous stream of the same emails (mainly from four addresses, three of them Apple ones) today - sclose to 2,000 messages. Old iMac (2008, system 10.9.5) but the same is happening on a 2010 Macbook, 10.13. It does not happen either on the iPhone or the iPad. Conversations with Apple Support got nowhere - hardware too old to be able to solve problem. I've now deleted the messages and blocked the addresses (though Rules) but this isn't the answer, as they are addresses I'll need to accept emails from in future. It happened once before, different addresses,a few weeks ago.Any ideas please?

Regards

John
