You will recall I recently sent a link to explain the complexity of USB plugs and standards.
I have now come across a similar article with the snappy title "When HDMI 2.1 Isn’t HDMI 2.1 – The Confusing World of the Standard, “Fake HDMI 2.1” and Likely Future Abuse” which can be found here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08LZWBTR6?tag=which-li-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1 <https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08LZWBTR6?tag=which-li-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1> The TidBITS.com article which led to this has the following statement referring to HDMI 2.1: "Unfortunately, it also does away with the HDMI 2.0 standard, incorporating it as a subset of HDMI 2.1. This means you could buy a display that claims to be HDMI 2.1-certified, but that actually supports only HDMI 2.0 capabilities.” Make of this what you will.
