Hi Stephen, You are quite right! My iPad keyboard (black) is indeed always connected, so the onscreen (white) one should never appear. That is exactly the problem – it always appears and it drives me mad.
It seems to be quite a widespread problem, going by all the questions on the internet, but none of the solutions offered apply to my particular iPad model number. I think I will try phoning Apple (in Dublin?) and having a chat with them about it. Thank you so much, Stephen and Jason, for always being willing to help. It is very much appreciated. When I connect my iPad Magic Keyboard the onscreen one never appears (though I can force it to if I want) so if yours does when using it normally then something isn’t quite right.
