Sam - thanks.
Your email went to an old account of mine, so I didn’t see it. (I use [email protected] these days)  Just shows how very long it has been since I first contacted SMUG.

The serial number is DGKX 6HB 7J1GC.

All good here thanks!

The 21” LCDs are generally not too expensive and are very easy to replace. What’s the serial number of the iMac?

Sounds like a hardware fault with the LCD, is it 21 or 27”?

Hi
I have been trying to get rid of a thin black line that has appeared slightly right of centre on my iMac screen. I have Googled it and tried all the recommended solutions - software update, reboot, reset SMC, reset NVRAM (both of which seem to be a complicated way of saying "turn it off and on again"). Nothing works.
Can anyone advise? It's a 2017 Intel iMac.
