that was https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapcraft/+bug/1661023
fixed by https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/pull/2765

so any snap should use the "fake" xdg-open by default and hand the
request to the outside of the confinement to the dbus service shipped
by the snapd-xdg-open deb on the desktop.
