This sounds like https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1561920 which is marked as Fix Released in 4.4.0-1009.10. Your canonical-pi2-linux version is 4.4.0- 1004-raspi2+20160419.13-51 which seems like it should be fixed based on version number alone.
